Gifted and Talented Program

Ferny Grove State High School prides itself in providing additional educationally challenging and rewarding programs tailored to suit students specific needs.

Each faculty extends students who have been identified as Gifted and Talented in their field by offering students the opportunity to participate in a range of diverse and challenging activities designed to enhance their learning experiences.

Opti-Minds is an critical thinking challenge held annually to develop team work, problem solving, critical and creative thinking among students.

A group of self-nominated students work together to prepare a solution to a challenge in the area of either Science-Engineering, Language-Literature or Social Sciences. Each project is presented to a panel of judges in front of an audience in the form of a dramatised presentation. An impromptu challenge is also undertaken by the students on presentation day.
