We'd like to celebrate the success of two of our Year 9 students: Tahlia and Brydie-Rose who put together a proposal for an installation to be built and displayed throughout the Curiocity Brisbane Festival.

Curiocity Brisbane is a 17-day celebration of science, art & tech, where new possibilities play and big ideas collide. From 12 to 28 March 2021, you can explore a packed program of interactive installations and events including World Science Festival Brisbane. Watch as the city around you is transformed into a world of discovery.
Only three primary and three secondary school submissions were selected from all across the state – the organisers said the competition was fierce, so this is a fantastic achievement for Tahlia and Brydie-Rose!
Having had their proposal accepted, the girls have been working with a
professional maker during Term 1 2021 to bring their idea, "HOPE" to life.
HOPE is a mechanical hand sent down by Mother Nature. It is covered in pink, purple and blue flowers along with green moss. People can take photos with HOPE in one of the three positions: peace symbol, fist bump or high five positions. The hand is derived of a mechanical skeleton made out of metal rods with joints that can move, it is then covered with moss and flowers.
This project has been created to instill hope that the environment can be saved if we work together to stop the damage we are creating.
You are invited to take a photo of yourself with HOPE and share it on social media.
