The Special Education Program at Ferny Grove SHS supports students who have a verified diagnosis in one or more of the following categories:
- Autistic Spectrum Disorder
- Intellectual Impairment
- Speech and Language Impairment
- Physical Impairment
- Hearing Impairment
- Vision Impairment
Each student with a verified diagnosis has an Education Adjustment Profile which identifies the frequency and intensity of adjustments that are made in the classroom and school program to provide an inclusive education. The EAP is reviewed in accordance with the student's progress. Adjustments are made in the areas of Curriculum, Communication, Social Participation/Emotional Wellbeing, Health and Personal Care, Safety, and Learning Environment/Access.
The individual needs of each student are considered when providing pathways through Junior and Senior Schooling leading to their post-school transitions which may include supported traineeships and certificate courses.
