Ferny Grove State High School operates a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) program. This program provides for one-to-one device coverage across the Year 7 to Year 12 student cohort. One-to-one access to technology allows students to transition learning seamlessly between the classroom and home.
Our school infrastructure, policies and most importantly our curriculum is continually undergoing renewal to ensure that we are able to deliver the highest quality service to your child. Online learning tools are in use to ensure your child has access to their learning 24/7, 365 days a year. Students and parents/caregivers are asked to lend their support to this valuable program. Strong support from parents and caregivers is paramount to ensure the program is successful and that students gain the maximum benefit.
BYOD Program
The BYOD program is open to all students and provides:
- Device choice and purchasing flexibility
- Direct parental control of devices
Devices must meet the Minimum Specifications to ensure they are able to connect, and be used on the school network.
Click on 'How to Participate' for minimum specifications and how to be part of the BYOD Program.
Students with a laptop from the previous School Laptop program will not be able to place a subsequent school laptop order. These students are encouraged to purchase a new BYO device, once their current device has become too slow, or is beyond repair.
BYOD Program Support Fees
The BYOD program support fee has now been incorporated into the Student Resource Scheme fees. This includes hot swap devices, school-wide software licences and charging bays.
