Years 7 and 10 students attend a year level camp in Semester 1. This camp aims to develop a cohesive group of young people committed to the goals of the school to “Always Aim High”.
Year 9 Languages students are offered an opportunity to engage in a weekend language and cultural immersion camp on Stradbroke Island.
Year 11 students are invited to participate in a leadership camp at Emu Gully. The focus of this camp is leadership skills, knowledge of self and team building.
Subject camps, e.g. Year 11 Biology Camps, Instrumental Music Camps and Senior Drama Camps, are held annually.
Excursions are held periodically to complement the work covered in a wide variety of subjects and year levels. Excursions are approved annually by the P&C Association. Details of all excursions are sent home by letter or email to relevant parents/carers and are also available on our Parent Notes page.
Overseas Cultural Tour
Depending on student and parent support, a cultural tour overseas is offered to students in the senior school.
The Languages Faculty offers students language and cultural experiences in Germany and Malaysia/Indonesia. There is a three-week annual exchange to Germany comprising two weeks at a Gymnasium (academic high school), home stay and tour. There is a biennial exchange with the Indonesian School in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The tour to Malaysia offers students cultural and language experiences that enhance their study of Indonesian through homestay with an Indonesian family and attendance at an Indonesian school.
Years 11 & 12 students have the opportunity to participate in a one-week ski trip to the ski fields of either Mount Kosciuszko Park in NSW or The Remarkables in New Zealand depending on snow conditions during the winter holidays. Regular skiing and snowboarding lessons according to ability are offered daily. Great resort facilities are used to accomodate students and teachers and fun evening activities are included.
