Ferny Grove State High School operates a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) program, which was established in 2019. This program provides for 1:1 device coverage across the Year 7 to Year 12 student cohort. 1:1 access to technology allows students to transition learning seamlessly between the classroom and home.
Our school infrastructure, policies and most importantly our curriculum is continually undergoing renewal to ensure that we are able to deliver the highest quality service to your child. Online learning environments have been established to ensure your child has access to their learning 24/7, 365 days a year. Students and parents/caregivers are asked to lend their support to this valuable program. Strong support from parents and caregivers is paramount to ensure the program is successful and that students gain the maximum benefit.
The BYOD program is open to all students, new and existing and provides:
- Device choice and purchasing flexibility
- Direct parental control of devices
Devices must meet the Minimum Specifications to ensure they are able to connect, and be used on the school network.
Click on 'How to Participate' for minimum specifications and how to be part of the BYOD Program.
Students with a laptop from the previous School Laptop program will not be able to place a subsequent school laptop order. These students are encouraged to purchase a new BYO device, once their current device has become too slow, or is beyond repair.
BYOD Program Administration Fees
In 2022 this non-refundable fee is $75 per student, which is invoiced annually by the school at the start of Term 2 each year. BYOD Students will continue to be invoiced yearly unless the school receives a request for the student to leave the program.
